Iles des Lérins

The Iles des Lérins are situated off the coast of Cannes, not far from Antibes. They were fortified by Richelieu to protect them against the Spanish. The Fort Sainte Marguerite, also known as Fort Royal, was improved by Vauban in the late 17th century.
